    Sloth Totem Drawing

I am very happy with how my “Sloth Totem” turned out! I stayed completely care-free the entire time I worked on this piece. I didn’t know how it would turn out in the end but I didn’t worry about it. I just let it happen and it happened well! I have shared this on social media and so far it is getting a lot of positive feedback.

I’m not entirely sure why people love sloths though! To be honest, I think they are a little creepy in real life. I can totally get on board with the calm and chill lifestyle though!

I will cover the symbolism of sloth after Inktober is completed. I shared a FSM Update to explain everything that is coming up in the next month! Make sure you give it a glance to see what’s in store!

Speaking of store, if you would like your own print of “Sloth Totem” it is available in my shop here.

You can also find home decor, apparel, accessories and more with my “Sloth Totem” piece. Click here.

  • W.I.P. Slumbering Sloth

    W.I.P. Slumbering Sloth

I’m starting my next piece and I’m giving in to this sloth obsession that has been going on. It seems like every year their is a strange animal that people go “ga-ga” over! This year is the sloth, I guess. Perhaps it’s one of those “you’re so ugly, you’re cute” kind of thing? Or is it their slow, calm and chill attitude? Whatever it may be, I’ve decided to try my hand at a sloth.

This is my rough sketch. I don’t think sloths really sleep like this but I wanted to play off of their lazy-like appearance. I’ve been really tired lately between work, family, summer activities and staying up later than I probably should. When I look at this, I can just imagine taking a nap in the trees with a nice, cool breeze. That would be the life, am I right? I think it’s safe to say we have all been there.

I have some of the ink done. This piece has a lot of patterns in it naturally so incorporating them will be fun! I also can’t wait to start the color. I don’t typically incorporate backgrounds for my totem pieces but this one definitely called for it. The leaves will be neat to create and green is one of my favorite colors to work with.

I hope you enjoyed the work in progress of my Sloth Totem. Check back soon to see the finished piece! What do you think about sloths? Cute and chill? Or Ugly and Freaky? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think?

  • #12 – Memorial Day Weekend

It’s been a busy weekend. Here are my daily photos I took over the last three days. We had a cookout with the family, went kayaking at Kinderhook Lake and enjoyed the awesome weather! I hope everyone enjoyed the time with their loved ones and remembered to honor those we have lost.

  • #10 – All the Colors

First rainbow I’ve seen this year and it was right before my son’s concert with his cello. 5.23.19

  • #9 – Puny Piney

Yesterday was a tiny toady. Today is a puny piney. I’ve never seen pinecones at this stage! They we a pretty pink and purple color. So cool! 5.22.19

  • #5 – Follow Your Heart

Took this yesterday at Papscanee Island Nature Preserve. I didn’t have an opportunity to post it yesterday so today I will just post two photos and keep the count going. We found this on the trail during our hike! It’s so exciting to find nature inspired creations left behind by others.

  • Photo Journal: April

Here are a few shots I have taken with my phone this Spring. Many of them were taken while I was landscaping at various places in New York. It’s awesome to slowly watch the season unfold. There is a different bloom every week and I love seeing all the colors! If anyone knows what the yellow flower in the second row is, please share in the comments below! I am struggling to identify that one.

The last picture is my new kitty! Her name is Marozi. Marozi is the name of a cryptid ( like bigfoot or Nessie) that looks like a spotted lion thought to exist in Africa. I call her Rozi for short. She is a big, fat, cuddle machine!

Thanks for stopping by this week! If you have any good Spring time stories to share, drop a line below!

  • We Survived Another Holiday!

It’s always weird when Christmas ends. You spend so much time preparing and leading up to it. There is the cleaning, cooking and baking, shopping, wrapping, decorating, visiting…the list goes on and on. Then, when the day finally comes, it’s over in the blink of an eye. Right back to your regular day to day. It’s like your exerting as much Christmas spirit as you possibly can and then it just….stops. What do you do when you still feel that charge though?

Use it towards the new year, perhaps? That is also an exciting time. The end of one chapter, the start of the next. What will this new story reveal? It’s ultimately up to you. Yea, there might be some surprises the universe will throw in but it’s your choice as to what path you will go down. I currently enjoy the trail I have been following so I think I will continue on the path I’m on. It feels amazing when I am working on my art. Everything in my personal life if finally settling into place as well. The word “feel” keeps ringing in my head. Everything just feels relaxed, harmonious, like everything is vibrating on the proper frequency. It’s comfortable, not like I want to melt into the couch. Comfortable as in, I have found myself. I’m comfortable in my skin. I feel like I’m doing what I’m suppose to. I haven’t felt this way in a long time. It’s awesome and I’m excited to use this power to soar through 2019!

My goal for 2019 is to continue working on my art so that I can become a fulltime artist. This is the most important task for me this year and I’ve never been more driven than I am right now! Thank you to everyone who has helped me this far and who continue to support me in achieving my goal! It means the world to me!

What was your favorite holiday activity? What do you want to achieve in the new year? Share your story in the comments below. I wish good vibes and high energy to everyone for the new year! Thanks for swinging by!

    Take care, free spirits!
