A few days ago, I was driving with my husband and we noticed something move beside the road ahead. As we drew closer it was evident that the creature was a male pheasant. What a beautiful bird! It had a metallic green cap upon his head and the iconic tail feathers trailed behind him as he dashed into the brush. I have seen pheasants before but never had I seen one since I have lived in New York. It was a surprising sight indeed!
I decided to check out the symbolism behind pheasants and this is what I learned. They are very flashy and beautiful creatures. The pheasant represents strutting your stuff. Put yourself out there and show the world what you have to offer. At the same time, know when it’s time to back down and hide in the brush. A possible threat can easily take out this flashy avian if they are not careful.
Other aspects that the pheasant represents is love, sexuality, and creativity. Male pheasants with their striking color will often attract three females at a time. If you have the pheasant as your totem, you have a strong libido and can just as easily attract love and passion. Looks like I have a good time ahead me! Bow-chicka-bow!
I am very pleased with how my latest zentangle inspired art (ZIA) came out. The colors were easy to work with, being the pheasant has a natural beauty. I also bought some new micron pens that are rediculously fine. It makes it so much easier to draw tangles with a .25 mm pen! A fine point sharpie seems like a kids crayola marker by comparison! Needless to say, I’m happy with my purchase.
I hope you enjoyed my latest post! Do you have anything you would like to add about the pheasant? Leave a comment below and share your experience. Thanks for reading!
