Warm weather is on it’s way! We made it folks. We survived another Winter! Although, I don’t know about everyone else but this was one of the most mild Winters we have had in a long time. We had maybe two good snowstorms but other than that just rain and wind. Now it’s already getting into the high 50’s and low 60’s; I live in upstate New York! That’s insane!
So it’s time to put away the hoodies and get some new spring tees out. Let your skin soak up the sunshine and sport one of my awesome tees that I have available on Teepublic. I never formally announced my arrival to Teepublic but I now have a store through going on a few months now. I just ordered one of my tees before starting this entry so I am very excited to get that in the mail! This is the one I ordered:
I love the color! It matches my mandala beautifully! There are so many colors to choose from and I have a bunch more designs in my shop so check it out and let me know what your favorite one is!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a great season! Sending warm wishes and happy Spring vibes your way! Check back soon for more artwork and awesome merch!
🚫⛔🚫ART THIEF!!! 🚫⛔🚫 I am so mad!! Santosa Bay on Amazon has stolen my Mother Bear design and is selling it!! They have attached Free Spirit Meg and MPhoenix in the title of the product. This is NOT ME!! Please do NOT buy any work of mine from Amazon. I only sell my work on Redbubble, Society6 and Teepublic. I have sent a request to amazon to have it removed but I didn’t get any kind of time reference to when they will even be able to address the issue or contact me. I also contacted the seller telling them to remove it immediately. Is there anything else I can do?? I’m freaking out and I’m beyond furious about this. I work my ass off to create my work, pour my heart and soul into it, spend hours editing, uploading and designing these products. And people just rip it off to make a quick buck! They take advantage of small time, independent artists in hopes of not getting caught. I really hope amazon is willing to work with me on this but from research online it seems like they dont have a good procedure for this kind of thing, if any. If anyone has any tips or advice, I would appreciate it. I thought I ensured all of my work was watermarked but I will have to go back through everything and double check. Other artists, I recommend watermarking EVERYTHING and going to the shop and making sure none of your work is stolen. They have a lot of random stuff on there. Santosa Bay -> amzn.to/35nVcuW
There are so many deals going on this weekend!! Today is also Small Business Saturday! There are many small and local businesses out there to include independent artists. It is exciting to see all these people living passionately and working for themselves, supporting each other. It’s a wonderful time to build a dream! I’m very thankful to be a part of it.
My Redbubble Shop is 25- 60% off everything! You can find art prints and home decor such as blankets, pillows, tapestries, and more! There is also a great selection in clothing in men’s, women’s and kids! There are even have socks with my art on them! Finally socks you can get for Christmas and be happy about!
My Society6 Shop is celebrating the weekend with up to 50% everything and FREE shipping! That’s always the best! This shop has unique gifts like beach towels, yoga mats and even furniture!
I have also recently created an account with TeePublic! Now I can offer little trinkets such as magnets and pins! (I am secretly obsessed with pins) All my tees in this shop are currently $13 and everything else is up to 35% off! Check it out to see all the new products!
Art makes a perfect gift and I appreciate each and every supporter! Every sale helps my business and helps me grow as a true artist. It’s also my bread and butter; as it is for all the entrepreneurs trying to build a life for themselves and their family. Even if you have never purchased a product, every follow, like, share or shout out makes a big difference! In honor of our most recent holiday, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for everyone who has helped me along this journey and for everyone that continues to show their support and love by shopping small!
Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy shopping from the comfort of your own home! Check back soon as I will be starting my animal symbolism posts again! Yay!
Until next time,

I have a lot going on in the near future. I have several projects in the making. Things are gradually slowing down with my landscaping job so I will have more time for my art!
We have two more days until Inktober so I will focus a lot of my time to completing this. I finally decided what theme I will follow this year and surprisingly it will not be horror! If there are any gamers out there you may know of Elder Scrolls Online, ESO for short. They have created their own prompt list for Inktober and it is my husband’s favorite game. He streams it live on Twitch.tv at RabidClown_Gaming. If you love the game too, check out his channel! I thought it would be neat to combine our interests this year and follow the ESO prompt list. If your not familiar with the game it deals with dragons, monsters, sorcerers, warriors, kings and queens….a huge realm of fantasy to vaguely sum it up! I enjoy drawing fantasy but never give myself the opportunity. Now it’s time to give it a turn.
I will also be spending all of October preparing for an Arts & Crafts Show that I will be participating in! It is November 3rd and I will share a separate post about this as the day draws closer with more details. I am currently working on a group of mini canvases. It has been a couple years since I’ve worked with the minis and I am having so much fun with it! It has also been a couple years since I have done an art show so my nerves are a little frazzled. For the most part though, I’m very confident in how it will turn out and I’m not procrastinating this time! That is a huge help for keep stress levels down!! XD Here is a sneak peek at some of the minis I will have at the show.
After Inktober and the art show, I’ll be picking back up with my totem animal symbolism posts. I had to take a break over the Summer because I am too busy working long hours with my landscaping job. Now that the colder months are ahead of us, the work load starts to ease up and I have more time to concentrate on my totems again. Since “Sloth” was a popular piece I will study this one and share with you what I find. After that I was thinking about tackling the panda. Who doesn’t love pandas, seriously!?
Aside from all of this (yes there is more), I have started dabbling with digital art. You may have already learned about this from reading my previous post, It’s A Digital Age. I am making mandalas on my laptop and phone using the program AutoDesk Sketchbook. It is so much fun and is just another way for me to express myself no matter where I am! I still have a lot to learn as far as digital art goes but I have made the first step. I would eventually like to get Adobe Illustrator since I am more familiar with it.
That about sums up what artwork is ahead of me! Busy, busy, busy! I have never felt more motivated though! I’m confident I will be able to get everything done with ease and make strides with my talents!
Thanks for stopping by this week! Make sure to check back often to see my 2019 Inktober collection grow. I will share one sketch for everyday until the end of October! Share a comment below if you are participating and I’ll be sure to follow along with you!
Happy October, free spirits!
“Get busy living, or get busy dying.”– Stephen King
I have this entire week off for vacation. I am pumped. I have needed a good break like this to rejuvenate myself in more ways than one. Besides working vigorously on my art and cleaning my house to the core, I am taking a much needed trip to Ohio to visit my family.
As always, expect a lot of pictures. I have a new lens that I haven’t been able to play with yet and it’s eating away at me! I need to try it out and this week will be the perfect opportunity.
I have a few pieces in the works. I have a realism piece of an otter, a zentangle of a sloth and a mini canvas painting. I will have to finish them when I get back but they are all coming along nicely.
Check back soon for more artwork and photography! Hope you’re enjoying the Summer! It’s been a busy one!
I just realized I’ve written over 400 posts here on my blog! This is 401, baby! That’s pretty insane. I have been keeping my blog for just over three years! It has been a great experience. The reason I started my blog was to keep myself more focused with my artwork. It was the only way I could hold myself to a schedule. It forced me to take time out of my day for my art when otherwise it would get overshadowed by other things happening in my life. Doodling once or twice a week just wasn’t cutting it. My blog has helped me with my time management and also my confidence in my work.
I have always been a quiet, modest person. It was always difficult for me to show off my work even though I knew I needed to be in the public eye to make it as a full time artist. Being on here, I have been able to build relationships with other bloggers and force myself to ignore self-doubt. I’ve met a lot of amazing people on here; a lot of them are just like me! It’s nice to have people to relate to! It helped build my confidence and made me more comfortable with just being myself. I don’t feel the need to “put on a face”. This is all Meg, baby, open for all the world to see! I’m not “afraid” to be me anymore. It’s a great feeling.
In all of this, my work has improved immensely! Not only because I’m obviously dedicating more time to it but also because I’m not afraid of how my work is going to turn out anymore. I use to waste so much time, stressing over my work, thinking it’s never “good enough”. It became difficult to stay motivated, not wanting to start a new piece until the current one was finished. Though, I never wanted to finished the current one because I was avoiding it, doubting my talent. These past couple years I’ve been able to get away from this way of thinking. Now, my ongoing goal is to just keep drawing, keep creating, just be. That’s it! Do what feels right and for god’s sake stop thinking your work is crap! It’s just work. It’s just art. It just is. Good? Bad? It’s a matter of opinion. All I can do is just make it. It is what it is. Once I accepted that, my art became carefree and easy going. The finished pieces come out so awesome and I’m more proud of my work than I have ever been. You can’t force perfection nor can you expect to work like a machine. It’s cliché, I know, but it’s the flaws that make things interesting. It’s the imperfections that attract attention.
So, long story short, I really enjoy blogging and it has done wonders for my work as an artist. What made you want to start a blog? Share your story in the comments below! Thanks for checking out my 401st post! I’ll have to do something super special for the big 500! Until then…
I’ve been out of sort for the past week or two, getting a lot of snow removal hours and trying to catch up on some zzzzz’s! I think Mother Nature is going to give me a breather now…for a little while…so I can start my next totem, the blue-footed booby! I real excited to get start because the colors are going to be bright and beautiful! Once I finish the booby, I thought it would be fun to let you guys choose what totem I should do next. I’ve created a poll to let you guys pick which animal you would like to see next. Here are the choices…
Which totem animal should I draw next?
Leave a comment below with the animal of your choice.
Thanks for voting! I can’t wait to see who the winner is!
I also have the poll up on twitter and deviant art. Those votes will be counted towards the total as well! Unfortunately, twitter only allows 4 choices so you can only vote on the full list here on my blog and on deviant art.
Hey All! Just a little update post to let everyone know what’s going on with the blog. Last year, I upgraded my plan to the premium package through wordpress. It gave me access to more customization for my blog as well as some other perks. The plan is set up so you pay for the whole year outright which is nice because then you don’t have to worry about it for another year. Well, I made it to my one year marker for the plan so it is time to renew. Unfortunately, I won’t have the extra cash to re-up on my subscription for a couple weeks. Therefore, the customization I had set up on my site is no longer available to me until I do. So wordpress picked a random theme and stuffed my blog in it. Now things are all over the place and look wonky because it doesn’t match up to my premium theme. Understandable, yes, it just creates a lot more work for me. I got rid of some of the clutter already but I am not running through my entire website again and customizing it. I’m hoping when I re-subscribe it will go back to the way it was. So for the time being, please excuse the mess! I hope it’s not too wonky!
If you would like to support the blog and help it grow you can subscribe to my Patreon and receive totem animal cards and prints every month! You can choose any dollar amount you want to pledge starting with $1 and you’ll receive certain goodies based on the amount you choose! I appreciate every bit and all profits go into growing my art and blog. Thanks for your help!
I hope everyone is staying dry and warm in this weather which is just as wonky as my website! Thanks for stopping by this week! Check back next week to see my completed Flying Squirrel totem and learn their symbolism.
Hey Everyone! I uploaded the Rhino Totem to my Society6 and my Redbubble. The designs came out really cool! I am enjoying the Redbubble editor. It is so easy and user friendly. It doesn’t take forever to load like Society6 and I can change the color of the background on the editor which gives me a lot of options. I really like the red with the Rhino design.
Society6 has some awesome products though that Redbubble does not. I really like the yoga mats and the furniture is really neat too!
Make sure to give both shops a glance. They are each unique and different like these notebooks. The blue one is from Society6 and the red one is from Redbubble. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get! Plus the prices vary between the products. Sometimes one of my shops will be having a sale and the other won’t.
I hope you enjoy the Rhino Totem. There is so much available in the shops it’s crazy! Let me know what you think about each store and what you favorite products are. Do you prefer Society6 or Redbubble? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Growth is key! Thanks for your support! All profits go right back into my art for supplies, equipment and helps keep the blog running! And remember….
Super excited to share my ❤ Valentine’s Day cards!❤ It was fun to play with my drawings and I was able to incorporate my love for corny jokes! I hope there are some couples out there that can appreciate my humor! 😂 You can order them in both my shops. Have a LOVEly day!
Let me know which ones are your favorite by leaving a comment below! You can order them @ Society6 or RedBubble!
